Hi, I would love to continue collecting more of Gary Meyer’s story, to compile and share them. If you know him, please do share your memories in the comment section down below.

Here is a documentary I did in 2019 of Gary Meyer. He was a very sweet, loving, humorous, and passionate teacher. He didn’t really teach me in class, but I have learned so much in the short time I got to spend with him. I remember seeing him first in his blue suspender top and asked a person working at art center, who is that old guy walking with a walker, he has such a sweet vibe. and so I went up to his class and took the bravery to ask this man who was once a stranger to me, “Hi, this may be odd, but I find you very interesting and I wonder if I could do a documentary on you, as I am trying to photograph people who are 80+ that are still active and high spirited.” after some convincing, he let me into his world. I hope you all enjoy this little video. and please share the stories you’ve had with him here! I would really love to hear more of him from you all

and in all honesty, just to share… this is the second person whom I photograph and passes. it is hard doing a documentary project on seniors, especially when you end up carrying for them in your heart. it is somehow harder to mourn for them than to mourn for my aunt’s passing. if you’d like to see my other series on seniors please let me know and share some love. i do need the encouragement to make it happen. i am looking to make a book right now to show some of their everyday life stories, hope it’ll happen. and yes if you know any publishing company or anyone who might be interested in it, please message me.

now, live your day and cherish your loved ones!
